Susanne Pandich

Susanne Pandich earned a B.A. in Art, Architecture and Planning from Wheaton College & Dartmouth College and an M.S. from the Columbia University School of Architecture. Over the course of her career, Susanne has held many property and preservation related positions: Manager of Public Programs for the Rockefeller Brothers Fund at the family’s Kykuit estate in Tarrytown, NY; Director of Filoli, a National Trust Historic Site in Woodside, CA; Director of Lyndhurst National Trust Historic Site in Tarrytown, NY; Interim Director of the Glass House, a National Trust Historic Site in New Canaan, CT; and Curator/Manager of the Biltmore Estate, the privately owned National Historic Landmark in Asheville, NC. 

 

In addition, she has participated as panelist and/or presenter at numerous historical and preservation conferences; authored articles for periodicals such as Southern Accents, North Carolina Architect, the Magazine Antiques, and APT Bulletin; and has been a board member of numerous museum and preservation organizations. Before retiring, she was Director of the Westchester County Historical Society, one of the oldest historical societies in the country and edited The Westchester Historian, a quarterly magazine in continuous publication since 1925. 

 

Susanne was appointed to serve on an advisory board for the Westchester County Parks Department and the Planning Department by several County Executives. Susanne and her husband are now year-round residents of Wellington, together with their daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. Both her daughter and son-in-law are in the equestrian business.
