Ken Marlin

Ken Marlin is an investment banker and international strategist, best known for founding and leading “Marlin & Associates,” the New York based, boutique investment bank and strategy consulting firm that Ken led for 20+ years. He is a serial entrepreneur, having led three financial technology companies before returning to deal making. Four times Ken has been named by “Institutional Investor” as one of the 50 most influential people in financial technology.

Ken also is the author of a best-selling book based on his application of principles that he learned while serving ten years on active duty in the US Marine Corps: “The Marine Corps Way to Win on Wall Street – 11 Key Principles from the Battlefield to the Boardroom” (St. Martin’s Press 2016.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_Marlin In 2018, after spending many years commuting and vacationing in the area, Ken and his wife Jacqueline, a dressage rider and retired Emmy-award winning senior producer at CBS News bought their home in Mizner Estates, where Ken has been a member of the Mizner Estates HOA Board for several years.

He and his wife care deeply about community service in general, and about Palm Beach Polo, in particular. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacqueline_Barnathan In 2021, Ken merged his investment bank into D. A. Davidson, a diversified financial services firm with more than 1,500 people working from 100+ offices in 29 states. Ken became Vice Chairman of Technology Investment Banking. Ken retired from D. A. Davidson in January 2025.

Ken earned his BA from the University of California (Irvine), an MBA from UCLA, and a post-MBA Advanced Professional Certificate in Corporate Strategy from New York University. He is a Trustee of the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club – serving 5,000 disadvantaged kids from clubhouses in Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens and northern Harlem; and a member of the Business Administration Board of Advisors of the University of the People – a fully accredited, American, non-profit, tuition-free, online University with more than 150,000 enrolled students from 200+ countries and territories. He is a former board member of the American Red Cross of Greater New York, the Phoenix House Foundation, the Hurricane Island Outward Bound School and the Rosenthal Center for Addiction studies.

Ken spent 8 years as the President of the co-operative association in his New York Co-op. For fun, Ken skis downhill, plays (a little) golf and tennis, and races vintage sports cars. He also enjoys watching his wife ride dressage.
