February 23, 2021

Good afternoon,

An update from Palm Beach Polo & Country Club Property Owners' Association, Inc. (POA):

Village of Wellington – Tennis House Front Lawn

The Village of Wellington Utility Department, via an independent contractor, has removed several trees and ground cover surrounding a utility lift station in front of the Tennis House on Polo Club Road near the main entry. The large trees and vegetation were interfering with communication devices affecting utility operations during hurricane and storm events. The work is being performed on Tennis House property which is not owned by the POA. Upon completion of the tree work, clusia hedges will be installed to the height of the chain link fence around the lift station to provide concealment along with sod and soil for proper drainage. Work at this location should continue through next week.

Dear Fellow Residents,

Yes, another letter. When events require bringing new areas of interest to your attention or new areas of concern arise, the long arm of Palm Beach Polo will reach out to you.

The Dunes Preserve Fund

Attached please find the details of an annual fund we are creating to accelerate the continuing development of what has become our most precious asset and amenity.

As has been discussed in prior communications, we are still playing catch-up with years of irrigation and infrastructure neglect. The increased usage of the preserve required additional funds to be allocated to the landscaping budget. It is our hope the annual fund will minimize future increases.

Suggestions for the fund may be almost as welcome as donations.

Stribling Way Berm Reclamation

Please visit the Stribling Way berm where mature Ficus trees have recently been installed. Now that the new berm irrigation system is functioning, the microscopic Clusia that had been planted under court orde rto the declarant have finally shown signs of life. Some have reached the towering height of two feet. We expect regular watering will greatly accelerate growth. In a few years they may earn the title, “hedge”.Bare spots are being eliminated with newly planted Clusia.

Polo Club Road Clusia Installation:

The Ficus hedge that had concealed the Tennis House parking areas for years were removed for reasons unknown and unexplained. We have installed a new Clusia hedge. The new hedge is on POA property and the early installation should reap the benefits of the approaching growing season.

All-Night Patrols of the Dunes Preserve:

Commencing shortly, dusk to daylight patrols will be implemented throughout the Dunes Preserve. The patrolling vehicle may be the patrol golf cart or a normal patrol car. From time to time the golf cart patrol may leave the path and patrol closer to the homes. Please do not be alarmed if you see flashing lights. This additional layer of security should be welcome by all. A new fence starting at the corner of Stribling Wayand Pierson Road is under construction and will run the length of the canal to Black Watch Farm. Residents have asked us to emphasize that the Dunes Preserve is closed to all residents from sunset to sunrise with no exceptions. The Executive Committee has requested that were-distribute copies of the rules and regulations covering the preserve and dog parks. They will be mailed later this week. It is crucial that parents understand they are responsible for making their children aware of the regulations and the benefit they bring to the community.

Sincerely yours,

Andrew Carduner

October 25, 2020

Good afternoon,

An update from Palm Beach Polo & Country Club Property Owners' Association, Inc. (POA):

Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office

The Palm Beach Sheriff's Office (PBSO) - District 8 Wellington Substation has advised that a vehicle theft took place earlier this week at the western end of Wellington, not within Palm Beach Polo, and the sheriff noted that the vehicle was left unlocked with the keys placed inside the vehicle. The sheriff’s office advised that the culprits involved with the vehicle theft are an organized group from Broward and Miami-Dade County. This same group hit several high-end country club communities throughout Palm Beach County in recent years. The POA office, along with PBSO, are again reminding all residents to lock your vehicles whether inside the community or not.

The sheriff’s office highly recommends the following for community safety and security:

  • Vehicle windows to remain closed and valuables stored out of sight. Items such as IPad’s, purses and cash left in plain view with car windows open create easy targets.
  • Have a proper functioning and monitored alarm system in place at your home.
  • Lock all doors and close all windows when leaving your home.
  • Have exterior and some interior lighting set on timers that are on during evening hours and make sure the timers are adjusted to follow local sunrise and sunset times.
  • Do not allow newspapers to pile up at the end of your driveway.
  • If you are a seasonal resident of Palm Beach Polo, please make sure that your home is being checked, inside and out, on a routine basis by a local property manager.
  • Please make sure that your contact information and guest and vendor list with the POA office is current with proper phone numbers.

Car Carriers

Are you planning to transport a vehicle via an over-the-road carrier in advance of the winter season? If so, please contact the POA office at 561-514-1800 to provide the carriers name and contact information which will be provided to the access control staff so they are prepared to receive truck and trailer upon scheduled arrival. You may also email the information to polo.poa@polopoa.com with your Polo Club address. Please plan in advance to have someone onsite who will receive the vehicle and direct it to your home.

2021 POA Budget

The POA Board of Directors plan to approve the 2021 operating budget on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 10:00 AM via Zoom given state and local limitations placed upon social gatherings. The POA is pleased to report that there will be no increase in the 2021 dues and as a result they will remain at $2,950/year per owner. Please don’t be disappointed to know that the Zoom meeting can only accommodate a total of 100 participants. If you are inclined to join, the meeting information is as follows:

Good afternoon,

An update from Palm Beach Polo & Country Club Property Owners' Association, Inc. (POA) as the winter season gets into full swing:

Dunes Preserve

Cutting, trimming and cleanup of the Dunes Preserve will continue over the next several weeks with landscape crews working throughout the property. All concrete cart paths in the preserve are being properly edged and shortly thereafter the paths will be pressure cleaned. For your safety, the wooden bridge that connected holes two and three on the former Dunes Course between Shady Oaks HOA and Kensington HOA along Polo Club Road, has been closed until further notice.

The old Dog Park along Polo Club Road just east of Chukker Cove HOA has been closed in accordance with a Village of Wellington regulation restricting use in Big Blue Preserve. Please visit the new Dog Park located on Long Meadow Drive just past Fairway Island Drive on the right hand side. The benches and dog waste stations have been relocated to the new Dog Park. Attached is a map displaying the new location. Additional benches and dog waste stations will be installed in various locations throughout the Dunes Preserve.

Please note that you can access the Dunes Preserve wherever there is a cart path off Polo Club Road or Long Meadow Drive leading to the property. If your home backs up to the Dunes Preserve, access to the property can be granted via your backyard.

November 15th, 2019

Dear Fellow Residents,

Today, your Palm Beach Polo & Country Club Property Owners’ Association Inc. (POA) completed the purchase of the abandoned Dunes Golf Course. This purchase represents the first time in the 41-year history of the Palm Beach Polo Club that the residents are able to repatriate a significant portion of the community’s land.

Why have we made this purchase?

For two years the uncertainty of the fate of the Dunes Course has been a major impediment to home sales in general as well as those homes (60%) directly (or indirectly) bordering the course.

Prospective buyers, not cognizant of the difference between POA and country club properties, have inquired whether the unkempt golf course is a result of insufficient funds, improper management of the POA...or both. Neither is true, but the perception lingers.

The continuing lack of mowing and dead vegetation on the Dunes Course has become a safety issue as the height of the grass provides protective cover for unwanted mammals and reptiles to approach home sites without detection.

For the first time, the declarant was amenable to a sale.

The purchase will enable us to provide a unique, gated community which has preserved over 150 “green” acres (please see enclosed overhead map) solely dedicated and maintained for dog-walking, jogging and bicycling activities for all residents and guests.

Realtors assure us the result of the POA acquiring the Dunes Course and converting it to “green, open-space” with proper cutting and maintenance will have a direct and positive impact on the value of our properties throughout all asset classes.

The purchase price was four million dollars provided through a bank loan authorized and completed by your Board of Directors. While an undoubtedly aggressive valuation when judged against other golf courses in South Florida, the impact of the rapidly deteriorating Dunes Course on our property values provided additional impetus to strike a deal. Although annual dues will rise, there will not be a special assessment.

As the Dunes Course purchase seemed to be real and imminent, we were forced to delay our normal October budget meeting in order to avoid having to structure and debate two separate, potentially confusing budgets (with and without the purchase), although, obviously, we anticipated and budgeted for the additional expenses involved in operating the new property. Your Board of Directors is excited about the new green space the POA has acquired and the subsequent return to tranquility. We assure you that our residents will see immediate visual improvement to our community as proper mowing cycles and cleanup will commence immediately.

The 2020 budget meeting is now scheduled for Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Wellington Community Center, located at 12150 Forest Hill Blvd, at which time a full discussion and budget review will take place. We look forward to seeing you at that meeting.

Sincerely yours,

Andrew Carduner

Good afternoon,

An update from Palm Beach Polo & Country Club Property Owners' Association, Inc. (POA):

Water & Sewer Line Assessment

The Village of Wellington (VOW) has contracted with two vendors to perform a water and sewer line assessment in multiple locations throughout Palm Beach Polo. Granite InLiner and Keshavarz & Associates will commence inspections on September 23 and work will extend into November. Water mains, manholes and sewer laterals will be video inspected and sanitary sewer cleaning will be performed. Both vendors may need access to your backyard to locate manholes. Trucks and heavy equipment will be present and at times noisy during the inspections.

Roadway’s may be blocked periodically, however, POA access control is prepared to assist with traffic flow. You should not experience any issues at your home during the inspections if the vendors are working near your property, however, both vendors along with the VOW have requested that toilet lids be left down when not in use.

With any questions regarding the project, please contact Julie Panse, Senior Engineer, with the VOW at 561-791-4145.

Lift Station Improvements

The Village of Wellington is revitalizing two lift stations (used for pumping wastewater) within the community. The lift station at the south end of Longwood Green Drive is currently under construction and work is underway at the lift station at the corner of Long Meadow Drive and Golf Brook Drive. The contractors performing the work are aware of vehicle and golf cart traffic and have taken all necessary steps to ensure the jobsites and surrounding areas are safe and passable. Village of Wellington emergency officials are monitoring the storm and the latest update from the National Hurricane Center has Dorian strengthening with the potential of nearing Category 4 strength winds as it makes landfall on Florida’s coast this weekend. The village is working closely with the Palm Beach County Emergency Operations Center and South Florida Water Management District to prepare for possible impacts to Wellington.

Wellington’s Utility Department will be reducing the water distribution system pressure to conserve water. If you are in residence, you may notice a reduction in your home water pressure. With any questions regarding this item, please contact Utility Customer Service at 561-791-4010.

The POA will continue to track Hurricane Dorian and provide updates accordingly.

Jim Taccone, LCAM

Palm Beach Polo & Country Club Property Owners' Association Inc. (POA) would like to advise all homeowners, whether currently in residence or away for the summer, to please take necessary precautions to secure your home with Tropical Storm Dorian currently tracking northwest in the Atlantic.

Items such as patio furniture, potted plants or other similar items that are not secured, must be removed and stored inside. Landscaping debris, tree branches and other similar items are not to be left curbside but are to be removed prior to the weekend.

The National Hurricane Center expects Dorian to intensify to a Category 3 hurricane as it moves through the warm waters of the Bahamas with strong sustained winds. Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast remain areas of possible landfall as the storm is scheduled to close in on Florida’s coastline early Monday morning. The Village of Wellington is monitoring weather conditions and making needed adjustments to canal elevations to provide flood control.

The POA will continue to track Tropical Storm Dorian and provide updates accordingly.

Best regards,

Jim Taccone, LCAM

Dear Fellow Residents,

A belated Happy New Year to all residents from Palm Beach Polo & Country Club Property Owners’ Association, Inc. (POA). We trust that you’ve settled back in for the winter and hope you have a wonderful season in Wellington.

We would like to update all homeowners on an important issue currently being addressed by the Village of Wellington (VOW) that will have a direct effect on our community. At the village council meeting held on January 8, the first reading of Ordinance No. 2019-01 to strengthen maintenance standards for both developed and undeveloped properties passed on a 5-0 vote.

Specifically, the ordinance states, golf courses in Wellington, whether active, inactive or abandoned, are required to maintain grass, weeds and low-growing vegetation at a height of no more than six (6) inches on the entire lot(s). The VOW staff believes the proposed revisions are reasonable and are the minimum necessary to protect the health, safety, reasonable enjoyment and value of properties surrounding vacant or abandoned land, especially large parcels.

On Tuesday, January 22, at 7:00 PM at the Village Hall located at 12300 Forest Hill Blvd, the village council will have a second reading and final vote on Ordinance No. 2019-01. We urge you to attend this extremely important meeting, fill out a “speakers card” and write that you support Ordinance No. 2019-01. You may speak or write your comments which will be read to the audience. As a property owner within Palm Beach Polo, your support is needed to protect the investments each of us have made.

Please visit the POA website at www.palmbeachpolopoa.com for additional information. As always, direct any questions or suggestions you may have to our General Manager, Jim Taccone at 561-5141800, or to any member of the elected Board of Directors.

We look forward to seeing you on January 22nd.

Sincerely yours,

Andrew Carduner President Palm Beach Polo & Country Club Property Owners’ Association, Inc.

Interior work such as painting, appliance replacement, cabinetry, plumbing repairs and air conditioning work is permitted, but shall be limited to one maintenance vehicle and must be accomplished indoors or within a closed garage. Minor landscaping is permitted. Homes purchased during this period must delay work until April 1, 2019.

No construction or landscaping is allowed on Saturdays or Sundays. Please inform your vendors that winter construction hours are from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Quiet Mondays

Quiet Mondays will commence December 1, 2018 and will extend through March 31, 2019.

Quiet Mondays restrict the use of any landscaping equipment (mowers, blowers, string trimmers, chain saws, or similar items) on Mondays for all associations and private homes in the club. Property Management companies in the club have been informed of this item. Pressure cleaning of roofs, driveways, pool decks, sidewalks or common areas is not permitted on Quiet Mondays.

Dog Park & Pet Etiquette

A friendly reminder to all dog owners who frequent the Dog Park. If your dog(s) are aggressive, they must remain leashed while at the Dog Park. The Dog Park is an area to enjoy but residents must control their dogs and prevent them from leaving the park and straying onto cart paths or Polo Club Road.

In addition, dogs must be leashed at all times when not on their owners property. Please do not allow your dog(s) to roam free and unattended on neighboring properties or POA common area which includes cart paths and roadways. Kindly exercise control at all times for the safety of residents, and dogs, alike.

Golf Cart Decals & Path Etiquette

All golf carts driven in the community must register with the POA. If you have not done so already, please contact the POA office at 561-514-1800 or via email at polo.poa@polopoa.com for more information. Minors are not permitted to operate a vehicle under any circumstances and may not be covered by your insurance. Please observe the following regulations:

  • All carts must have a valid POA sticker affixed to the cart.

Irrigation Project

  • The Phase D – Part II irrigation install is well underway along Polo Club Road. The install will run from the Shady Oaks entry down Polo Club Road to Sunnydale Drive. Treasure Coast Irrigation will be onsite through August completing the project so please pardon our dust as we continue to make upgrades to the community.

Summer Construction Rules

Summer construction rules run through November 30, 2018. All permitted construction is allowed. Construction projects must have written HOA / Condominium and POA approvals in place prior to construction. Summer construction hours are from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Two Controversial Proposals Push Wellington Meeting to 2:21am

September 14th, 2017

Good afternoon,

Palm Beach Polo & Country Club Property Owners' Association Inc. (POA) recommends that homeowners reach out to their private landscaping companies and request that storm debris left curbside be removed. This may require a second trip back to the community for your landscaper to complete this item.

The Village of Wellington (VOW) estimates that three to four hundred thousand yards of debris exists at this time throughout the village, excluding the debris that has been gathered inside of Polo. The VOW is working quickly on securing Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) assistance, however, public haulers may only be able to remove one hundred thousand yards of debris per week and they will commence their work on village property.

To be clear, if your landscaper or tree trimmer left a large pile of debris in front of your home, that pile will sit in place for at least the next several weeks, if not longer, unless you arrange to have it removed.

Other items of interest:

  • The barcode entry system is now active at the west gate off South Shore Blvd.
  • Resident and guest arrivals at the east gate off Forest Hill Blvd will continue to be processed manually until further notice.
  • Please phone in your guests to the guardhouses. The main gate off Forest Hill Blvd can be reached at 561-793-7758 and the west gate off South Shore Blvd can be reached at 561-793-7759.
  • The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) has lifted curfew hours.

All email alerts have been posted on the community website at www.palmbeachpolopoa.com. Click on Community News at the top of the home page and then click on announcements to view.

Good afternoon,

Palm Beach Polo & Country Club Property Owners' Association Inc. (POA) would like to advise all homeowners that landscapers and tree trimming crews will be allowed to continue their cleanup efforts this Saturday, September 16, inside of the community. Please instruct said vendors to enter the community via the construction entrance off South Shore Blvd.

The local association management companies have been advised of this item so that they can inform their respective landscaping companies.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) has revised curfew hours from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM until further notice.

Resident arrivals, along with guests visiting the community, will be processed manually until further notice given the inactive barcode entry system at the east and west gates, both of which are currently being addressed. Kindly be patient and have your picture identification available upon arrival at the gates.

Please phone in your guests to the guardhouse until further notice. The main gate off Forest Hill Blvd can be reached at 561-793-7758 and the west gate off South Shore Blvd can be reached at 561-793-7759.

September 12th, 2017

Good afternoon,

Palm Beach Polo & Country Club Property Owners' Association Inc. (POA) would like to advise all homeowners that all sub-association roadways and parking lots are vehicle accessible. Debris and small limbs remain on many roadways but the entire community is traversable.

As previously communicated, power outages are widespread throughout Palm Beach County, however, Florida Power and Light (FPL) advised this afternoon that they expect power to be back online by the end of the weekend for residents on Florida’s east coast, excluding areas hit by tornadoes, flooding and severe damage. The POA again recommends that you have someone local check the outside perimeter and inside of your home to determine if utilities such as power and water are properly functioning. If you’ve received a report from a neighbor in your specific HOA or condominium association that they have power, it does not guarantee that you have power to your home.

POA lake levels remain high, however, they are causing no issues to surrounding homes. Preparation by the village to local canals in advance of the hurricane greatly contributed to proper water levels.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) has revised curfew hours from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM until further notice. A deputy will continue to patrol the community assisting the access control staff overnight. The POA office has been in direct contact with the local Wellington substation and they’ve advised no reports of foul play or looting activity in the village.

Resident arrivals, along with guests visiting the community, will be processed manually until further notice given the inactive barcode entry system at the east and west gates, both of which are currently being addressed. Kindly be patient and have your picture identification available upon arrival at the gates. Please instruct your vendors to enter the community via the construction entrance off South Shore Blvd which is open to receive vehicles.

Other items of interest:

  • Waste Management will be providing regularly scheduled trash pickup tomorrow.

  • The regularly scheduled Village of Wellington Council meeting will take place this evening at 7:00 PM and can be viewed on the village website at www.wellingtonfl.gov by clicking on the WTV icon on the bottom right of the homepage.
  • Limited airline service continues at Palm Beach International Airport. Please contact your airline directly for flight availability.

  • Miami International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport reopened Tuesday with limited flight schedules.
  • Palm Beach County Schools will remain closed through the end of the week and will not reopen until Monday, September 18.

If you continue to experience trouble reaching your local association management company, please reach out to the POA office at 561-514-1800 or via email at polo.poa@polopoa.com to report any issues and we will provide assistance that is available.

September 11th, 2017

Good afternoon,

Palm Beach Polo & Country Club Property Owners' Association Inc. (POA) would like to advise all homeowners that Hurricane Irma left the Wellington area earlier this morning. The east and west entry gates are clear and open to receive vehicles.

All main roadways such as Polo Club Road and Long Meadow Drive are navigable. The POA's landscaper mobilized several crews early this morning and began to clean up debris. There are many trees and large limbs that are down throughout the club. Please be careful if you are out walking and please do not attempt to move said items.

Power outages are widespread throughout Palm Beach County, however, many residents have reported that their power remains intact. The POA recommends that you have someone local check the inside of your home.

All roads are open in the Village of Wellington (VOW), however, some traffic signals are out so please proceed with caution when approaching intersections. If you are in residence, the Publix grocery store on Forest Hill Blvd is currently open accepting cash only. Also, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office has issued a curfew from dusk to dawn until further notice.

Please continue to check local news outlets for additional updates.

Good afternoon,

Palm Beach Polo & Country Club Property Owners' Association Inc. (POA) would again like to advise all homeowners, whether currently in residence or away for the summer, to please take all necessary precautions to secure your home with Hurricane Irma currently tracking west in the Atlantic rapidly approaching South Florida.

If you haven’t done so already, items such as patio furniture, potted plants or other similar items that are not secured, must be removed and stored immediately. The Village of Wellington (VOW) has requested that bulk trash items cease to be placed curbside. Keep said items inside of your garage if possible. Saturday pickup of garbage, vegetation and recycling has been cancelled.

Aside from closing your hurricane shutters, turn off propane tanks, unplug electronics in your home to prevent surges and monitor local news outlets for timely updates.

Please visit the VOW website at www.wellingtonfl.gov, click on “Are You Ready” in the middle of the home page, then scroll down to a small box on the left side of the page that says, “Code Red”. Click on “Sign Up” and create your free emergency notification account wherein you will receive text messages from the VOW regarding emergency situations or critical community alerts.

Canals throughout Wellington are already at their lowest operating capacities. South Florida Water Management District has advised that their pump stations will be staffed and operating around the clock during and after the storm.

Attached for your reference is the Palm Beach County Hurricane Survival Guide which contains useful information that you should keep on file. Please be safe and continue to prepare accordingly.

Good morning,

An update from the Palm Beach Polo & Country Club Property Owners' Association, Inc. (POA):

  • Gate Access - Did you know that you can view, modify, delete or add new access control information that is accessible to the guardhouse staff at the gates via the web. Please visit www.gateaccess.net today to not only update your contact information but your guest list, emergency contacts, pet information and vehicles. Once on the site, the community code is “POLO”, your user name is the phone number attached to your account including area code (ex. 5615551234), and the password is your assigned five digit PIN number.
  • Please take a few moments and visit the website to update your information as it helps each guardhouse process residents and guests into the community. As a recommendation, after a vendor completes service at your home, login and remove the company name from your guest list to eliminate the possibility of re-entry.
  • With any questions regarding the website, please reach out to my assistant at 561-514-1800 or via email at polo.poa@polopoa.co

The POA office will be closed on Monday, May 29 in observance of Memorial Day and we hope that each of you enjoy the upcoming holiday weekend.

Palm Beach Polo POA Sponsored Social Event – Saturday, March 18, 6:00 PM at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center – Invitations to Follow

December 9th, 2016

Good afternoon,

An update from the Palm Beach Polo & Country Club Property Owners' Association, Inc. (POA):

  • Vehicle Decals – Vehicle decals are distributed at the west entrance guardhouse at South Shore Blvd between the hours of 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM, Monday to Friday during the winter season. A parking lot to receive vehicles is conveniently located on the north side of Bagattelle Road near the exit lane, just east of the intersection before the guardhouse inside the club. An access control officer will assist in providing the vehicle decal form for you to fill out. Please remember to bring your vehicle registration and driver’s license when visiting the guardhouse for a decal. Only unit owners are eligible to receive decals. All tenants, renters, and guests will be required to purchase their decals at the POA office, open from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, located at 3031 Fortune Way – A11, Wellington, FL 33414.
  • Winter Construction Rules –Winter construction rules went into effect on December 1 and will run through March 31, 2017. No construction (interior or exterior) will be permitted during the winter season. Interior work such as painting, appliance replacement, cabinetry, plumbing repairs and air conditioning work is permitted, but shall be limited to one maintenance vehicle and must be accomplished indoors or within a closed garage. Minor landscaping is permitted. Homes purchased during this period must delay work until April 1, 2017. No construction or landscaping is allowed on Saturdays or Sundays. Please inform your vendors that winter construction hours are from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Included in the POA's correspondence emailed yesterday, the following message under Access Control was included: The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office – District 8 Wellington Substation, with whom the POA office frequently communicates with, would like to remind all residents of Polo to properly secure valuable items inside your vehicles and not store them in plain sight. Items such as IPad’s, purses and wallets left in plain view with car windows open create easy targets. Unlocked vehicles with keys left inside is discouraged by the sheriff’s office . More specifically, the sheriff’s office has advised that high end luxury vehicles are being targeted for theft throughout Palm Beach County. Locked vehicles with windows closed and valuables stored out of sight are the recommendation from the sheriff.

In furtherance to the comment above, last week there were two vehicle thefts in the community. In both instances, keys were left in unlocked vehicles. Unfortunately, much misinformation spread about the thefts, and the number was incorrectly inflated to seven cars stolen from the community. In any instance when a resident has a question concerning actual (or rumored) criminal activity in the community, please call the POA office for information and/or confirmation. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Please visit the POA website at www.palmbeachpolopoa.com for more information and updates.

The Palm Beach Polo & Country Club Property Owners' Association, Inc. (POA) would like to update all homeowners regarding items related to Safety and Security as the winter season is underway:

Access Control

·         Please welcome JC Carrera, our new Director of Security here at Palm Beach Polo. JC, a former United States Marine, comes with both private and public security experience and has held management and operational positions throughout his career. JC’s experience with the Lantana Police Department as a Field Training Officer and Investigator will strengthen the access control team and provide invaluable experience to the operations of the POA.

·         As we welcome JC, Ivan Lopez, longtime Director of Security and mainstay for the POA, has transitioned to the role of Major on the access control team. You will continue to see Major Lopez during the week, however, the POA will begin to utilize his strengths for weekend coverage during the winter season given the influx of visitors and guests to the community.

·         As communicated this fall, every home in the club is driven by, observed and checked off by our roving Golf Cart Patrol seven days per week. The patrol includes providing bottled water for walkers, bikers, and joggers who may request it.

·         Plans are in place to implement a Vendor ID Access Card Program that will be required for all vendors providing service to you as homeowners inside of the community. All vendor employees must pass a criminal background check and possess a valid ID card in order to gain entry to the community. Further updates regarding implementation will be communicated to the residents.

·         The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office – District 8 Wellington Substation, with whom the POA office frequently communicates with, would like to remind all residents of Polo to properly secure valuable items inside your vehicles and not store them in plain sight.

·         You’ll observe new access control vehicles patrolling the community. Upgrades have been made to the equipment in each vehicle and the three new Ford Escape SUV’s have been dispatched throughout the community.

Perimeter Fencing

·         The POA continues its restoration of the community with respect to perimeter fencing. Early this winter season you will see new aluminum slat fencing installed along Forest Hill Blvd, east of the main entry to the club. In addition to Forest Hill Blvd, fencing will be installed along Sunny Drive, the common area south of the Polo Sales Center, and the border along the exit lane that runs along the west portion of Tennis Lodges Condominium. Plans are also in place to fence the entire Pierson Road berm from the corner of Stribling Way west to the 120th Avenue roundabout.

Gate Access

·         Help alleviate congestion at the entry gates by entering your guests using the ABDI GateAccess app which can be downloaded from the app store on your portable device. ·        Vehicle Decals – Vehicle decals are distributed at the west entrance guardhouse at South Shore Blvd between the hours of 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM, Monday to Friday during the winter season.

Registration forms will be issued and decals can be purchased this Friday, November 25 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the corner of Long Meadow Drive and Polo Club Road. Decals are $20.00 payable by check to Palm Beach Polo POA.

Cart drivers are required to possess a valid driver’s license and observe the following regulations:

o   Carts are only to be driven on golf cart paths and not POA roadways.
o   Pedestrians and cyclists have the right of way along all paths and carts must yield and pull over for each to allow passage.

o   Carts driven in the evening must be equipped with head and tail lights.

·        Lighting – Improved lighting installations along Polo Club Road near the main entrance to the community have been delayed.  FPL has told us they were forced to send their local vendors to north Florida to clean up and repair damage from Hurricane Matthew. Thank you for your continued patience as we work to complete this project.

·        Winter Construction Rules –Winter construction rules will be in effect December 1, 2017 through March 31, 2017. Palm Beach Polo & Country Club Property Owners' Association, Inc. (POA) would like to inform all homeowners that the construction entrance off of South Shore Blvd has been closed for turn lane renovation taking place outside of the gate. Until further notice, please instruct all vendors coming to your property to use either the east entrance off of Forest Hill Blvd or the west entrance off of South Shore Blvd. Vendor access can be granted using the www.gateaccess.net web site or the ABDI GateAccess app on your smart phone or tablet. Good afternoon,

The Palm Beach Polo & Country Club Property Owners' Association, Inc. (POA), your Board of Directors and our management team are continuing an extensive program of improvements to the club and its infrastructure this summer. A few updates to bring to your attention:

·         Irrigation Project: Phase C installation, from Polo Club Road down Long Meadow Drive, has been completed. Proper zone lines and irrigation heads are functioning and the common areas have already begun to show improvement.

·         Lake Restoration: Restoration of lakes 28 & 28A along Long Meadow Drive are completed. The lakes were dredged, banks restored and littoral plants have been installed. The results have been excellent and the lakes are vastly improved.

·         Mosquito & Insect Control: The Village of Wellington continues their spraying program which includes Palm Beach Polo. The village has doubled their fleet of trucks and, weather permitting, are working seven days a week treating the village at large. All POA lakes have been treated with a larvicide granular solution.

·         POA Office: The POA office moved earlier this summer and we are now located on the corner of Pierson Road and Fortune Way, directly behind the club. Please update our mailing address to 3031 Fortune Way - A11, Wellington, FL 33414. Our direct dial of 561-514-1800 remains the same and for quick reply on all POA matters, please email my assistant Elisabeth DeMayo at polo.poa@polopoa.com.

We hope that each of you are enjoying your summer and look forward to seeing you in the fall.

The winter season in Wellington is quickly approaching as many residents have begun their preparations to return to Palm Beach Polo. Part of those preparations include transporting your vehicle(s) back to Polo.

The POA is requiring that all vehicle transporters enter through the construction gate off South Shore Blvd between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Large tractor trailer trucks require assistance when entering the community and the construction gate will provide the necessary guidance.

Please provide your transport company with the specific instructions above. The address for the construction gate is 12980 South Shore Blvd, Wellington, FL 33414, which is one-half mile west of Big Blue Trace on the south side of South Shore Blvd. Making these arrangements will reduce the congestion at the east and west gates.

Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter.

If the report shows downed trees or debris, the HOA involved is contacted so their landscaper can begin cleanup.
By 2:45 PM on Sunday, roadway flooding subsided and all roads were clear.

Tropical Storm Erika dissipated over this past weekend and the National Hurricane Center discontinued advisories for the system.

Palm Beach Polo & Country Club POA (Polo) took all necessary measures to secure and protect the common areas had the storm approached the Wellington area. We thank each of you for doing the same at your property.

South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) took precautionary measures by lowering water levels in canals in anticipation of heavy rains. All lakes in Polo were visibly lower given the maintenance performed to the culverts and lakes. When SFWMD lowered their levels, the lakes in Polo followed suite.

SFWMD issues a press release on August 31, 2015 advising that they had begun “returning the regional flood control system to typical summer operations today following weekend rainfall from remnant tropical activity.”

We hope the remainder of storm season stays quiet and uneventful.

Sincerely, Jim Taccone, LCAM Property Manager Palm Beach Polo & Country Club P.O.A., Inc.
